The main raw material of MDF is wood waste, such as wood chips, bark, wood blocks, etc. These raw materials are first screened and cleaned. These raw materials are first screened and cleaned to ensure that they are free of impurities, and then the wood is crushed into fibers by a wood chipper. The crushed wood fibers undergo some chemical treatment, usually with the addition of resin binders and water repellents. This process helps to improve the bonding strength and water resistance of the fibers.
After the treatment and dehydration, the fibers are evenly laid in a mold and are pressed and molded at high temperatures and pressures through a hot press. During this process, the resin binder in the fibers is activated, causing the fibers to bond tightly together to form the sheet. After pressing, the sheets are cooled and initially cut and trimmed. The fibers are then dewatered in a drying facility to reduce their moisture content to a suitable level. After molding, the Density Board is sanded to give a flat and smooth surface. Depending on the application, the surface can also be coated with finishing treatments, such as laminating and painting, to give the boards better decorative effects and durability.
